how to make a steak in the air fryer
Don’t get me wrong, I love my grill and there’s also nothing like cast iron cooking, but using my air fryer for steak has made it more convenient to enjoy the protein at lunch over a steak with little cleanup.
tips:
+ Let your steak come to room temperature. This reins true with any time you cook a steak! Room temperature meat cooks more evenly – if you bring it straight from a cold refrigerator the inside will stay cold longer and not cook the way you want it to.
+ Preheat your air fryer. Before you add the steak, turn your AF on to 400 for at least 3-4 minutes to get nice and hot.
+ Use oil + seasonings. I like spritzing a light layer of avocado oil and Borsari salt.
+ Don’t overcrowd! If you’re making more than 2 steaks, do these in rotation.
instructions:
- Preheat your AF to 400 for at least 3-4 minutes to get hot.
- Spritz any 1 inch room temperature steak with avocado oil and add seasonings.
- Place steaks in the preheated air fryer basket with enough space on all sides.
- Cook for 14 minutes, flipping half way through for a medium steak.
- Remove with tongs and let rest for at least 3 minutes. I always check mine with a meat thermometer to make sure it’s done!
