venice beach eats

Ky and I took a trip to California this past weekend to celebrate my birthday, get a break from the grind (he’s been in school full time for over a year), and dip our toes into the pacific.

I always had heard the food in LA was amazing, but when I tell you every single thing we ate was incredible I MEAN IT!!!! lol. In case you ever find yourself hungry on the westside of LA, here are all the spots we ate and what we ordered.

moon juice

When we first got to town we dropped our bags and started walking. We took an early flight so I was on the hunt for a caffeinated beverage. The great thing about LA is it’s the land of many drinks – we came across Moon Juice almost immediately so I had to go inside!

Moon Juice is known for its stress management/adaptogenic powders that I’ve had myself, but never one of their own drinks! I got a Blue Matcha Pearl with their pearl powder, blue spirulina, matcha, and almond milk.

the cow’s end

This coffee and lunch spot seems to be a Venice original and I can’t wait to go back. Since we were up so early we were looking for a little something to hold us over until restaurants opened for lunch so we shared the breakfast tacos, a donut, and a green juice.

erewhon

Erewhon is likely the most elite grocery store I’ve ever been in but it was also my dream come true. They are known for their drink and food bar so we decided to grab some to go and bring it back to our Airbnb since it was time to check in.

Within a few bites I understood the hype — it was expensive, but wow it was amazing. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower (a MUST), kale and white bean salad, chips and mango salsa, and the rice balls. yum city, population me I can’t wait to go back!!!!!!

sushi enya – marina del ray

I saw this sushi spot on tiktok so I thought it’d be perfect for my birthday dinner. The thing I love about LA is how relaxed everyone is and it was no different at Sushi Enya. We ordered the crispy tuna (please get this), sashimi, and this amazing fried onion roll – I can’t find their menu online but it was on everyone’s table so it must be a popular item.

sunny blue

We walked from Santa Monica back to Venice and on the way stumbled across Sunny Blue. The line was out the door and again, we were looking for a snack. We each got one omusubi, which is basically a rice ball with white rice wrapped in nori with some sort of filling. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor!!!!

the win-dow

After our long walk through west LA we planned to end at the beach for lunch. I’m a big fan of getting a burrito or sandwich and taking it to picnic somewhere and with being in Venice and all, it was time for some relaxation by the water.

The Win-Dow seems to be a very popular burger spot and they just opened a location on the Venice Boardwalk. If Ky and I know anything we know burgers and these were probably some of the best burgers I’ve ever had??????

ospi

Next time I head to Venice I am DEF eating at this restaurant. It was very close to our Airbnb and after nearly 20 miles of walking in two days, we were pooped so we ordered in and watched Succession. At this point in the weekend we didn’t think we could love any of the food more but this was outstanding. We ordered the crispy provolone, kale salad, pasta, and a margarita pizza. All 10/10.
