how I clean my sink

Many commercial cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can linger on surfaces and eventually make their way into our food. That’s why I opt for this gentle yet effective natural cleaning method.

my natural sink cleaning recipe:

  • Baking soda: A mild abrasive that helps remove stains and buildup
  • Fresh citrus: The natural acids break down residue and leave a fresh scent
  • Salt: Provides extra scrubbing power and helps sanitize
the process
  1. First, rinse your sink thoroughly with hot water.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda generously across every part of the surface.
  3. Add a handful of salt over the baking soda.
  4. Cut your citrus in half and use it to scrub the mixture around your sink, squeezing gently as you go to release the natural oils and acids.
  5. The citrus acts as both cleaner and scrubber. Let this mixture sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with hot water.

This simple ritual keeps my sink clean and fresh without introducing harsh chemicals into my kitchen. It’s gentle enough to use regularly and easy enough to do because I typically have these three things on hand anyway. It also leaves behind nothing but a natural, clean scent!
